Pinewood Derby - Part 1
I know you're all going ot be disappointed but my pictures didn't turn out well from today's Pinewood Derby races. I took some with my brothers camera that I hope came out better but it will be a couple of days before I get those. If you got some pictures send them to Mark or me and we'll get them posted to share about.
Anyway, great job to all the Tiger Cubs! All of the cars came out wonderful. Ethan and I were talking on he way to the Derby about how cool it was going to be to see how different all of the cars turned out even though everyone started with the same type of block of wood and we were not disappointed. We have some creative and individual boys. As parents, I think we all did a great job of letting the boys guide this and have the cars be what they wanted.
Back Row: Owen, Riley
Front Row: Ethan, Brian, Jason, Nico
During the races I was proud to see all of the boys cheering for each other.
Hopefully more pictures to come in a few days.
Don't forget, the Pack Meeting was moved to this week. Thursday 23 April at 7pm.

On The Radio
On Friday afternoon we gathered at Pasadena City College to take a tour of the local radio station.
The tour started with running amok in the lobby area. To contain the boys they then led us to the break room where we got a brief overview of what radio is and what Public Radio is, then of to the On-Air control room.
The boys all got a quick lesson in how stuff gets on the air. He explained what all of the equipment in the racks did. How it receives pre-recorded and streamed content from NPR and other shows they purchase to air, also how the signal is transfered from here at PCC up to the top of Mount Wilson where it is sent out.
The boys were most impressed with the big red light, with a sign that read "do not press the red button"
From there we went to Studio 2 where they have guests come in for interviews. Everyone got a chance to talk into a microphone and listen through headphones.
Nico
Owen
Ethan.
Riley. (seemed very comfortable and ready to have a sports talk show.)
Brian's brother Jake.
Brian.
Jason.
As the boys took turns at the microphones the others went to the control room where they applied effects to distort and change their voices. The boys went wild! A big thanks to the KPCC staff for being so comfortable with 6 boys going crazy with the equipment.
Next event...... Pinewood Derby on April 19!!!
